One of the world’s most electrifying motocross riders and husband of pop star Pink – Carey Hart – will line up with a host of other international and national celebrities in this year’s BMW Celebrity Challenge at the 2006 FORMULA 1™ Foster’s Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

The champion motocross rider, who is renowned for being the first person to land a back flip on a motorcycle in a stunt known as a ‘Hart Attack’, will add to the action and drama of the race when it gets underway on 2 April at Albert Park as a prelude to the Grand Prix.

Hart flies into Melbourne this weekend to join the field of 26 drivers in the race, which includes another two-wheeler star, triple Australian superbike champion Shawn Giles who has already declared his intent to “smoke the field” in the five-lap event.

The field for this year’s event announced today by BMW Group Australia also includes:

  • Extreme sport big wave surfing champion Ross Clarke-Jones and another extreme sports star, New Zealand-born adventurer and host of The Amazing Race, Phil Keoghan
