Ford Fiesta LX

Ford's new 2006 Fiesta Zetec will further enhance the brand's reputation for European styling, German engineering and outstanding driving dynamics when it goes on sale in March.

The new Fiesta models, two of which are already available, are offered in a variety of three or five door configurations. LX is available with three or five doors, the soon-to-arrive Zetec with three doors and Ghia exclusively in five door guise only.

All Fiesta models come standard with a 1.6 litre Duratec 16 valve all-alloy engine, the impressive power plant developing 74 kW at 6000 rpm and peak torque of 146 Nm at 4000 rpm.

"The new Fiesta Zetec offers further sports features for the enthusiast driver," said Ford Australia President, Mr Gorman.

"These features include 16-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension and revised gear ratios in the manual transmission. Fiesta Zetec offers a spirited and performance orientated driving experience."

New-for-2006, all three Fiesta models will have air conditioning as standard.

Other enhancements introduced on the 2006 model include exterior changes to bumpers and grille, new headlamps, new rear lamps, thicker body side mouldings and body coloured handles and mirrors on selected models.

A selection of modern new seat fabrics and fascia colour combinations gives the interior an exciting, trendy feel, while new exterior paint colours including Tango, Sea Grey and Jeans Blue.

"It's no wonder that this small German Ford has become such a heavy weight when it comes to winning both awards and international recognition."
