Peugeot Excited about 206 Range
Feb 9, 2006, 14:46

Peugeot 206
2006 is shaping up as a great year for the Peugeot 206.

With increased specification and lower prices across the range, there has never been a better time to buy what many people consider to be the most stylish small car on the market.

A new model variation is also set to bolster the ranks of the popular 206 range - the 206 ‘C’ - which is based on the top selling 206 XT.

Equipped with a full length athermic glass roof, the ambience of the vehicle’s interior is enhanced by a new found feeling of lightness and openness. Both front and rear passengers benefit from the additional glass area, which can be covered by a fully lined electric shutter.

Offered in the XT specification, the 206 ‘C’ is available with a lively 1.6 litre engine and will undoubtedly be a popular choice for those keen to let the sunshine in.

The 206 C is priced at $22,990 for the manual version, and is also available in automatic for $24,990.

The 206 XR model is now even better value thanks to a price reduction of $1,000; down to only $17,990. This well equipped model now features a new style cloth interior, and now boasts ‘Euro IV’ emission compliance resulting in not only world class (low) emission standards, but also low levels of greenhouse gas production.

The 206 XT receives a significant increase in standard spec and is a great buy at $21,990.

With a new style "Katla" trim, the 206 XT is now equipped with Sports style front seats, a Sports front bumper, Chrome exhaust, Aluminium fuel cap, Body coloured bumpers & side rubbing strips, Aluminium door sill kick plates, Drilled aluminium pedals, Chrome gear knob (manual) and 15" steel wheels with a revised wheel cover.

The 206 XT is also Euro IV emission compliant.

While the iconic 206 GTi has been discontinued, the GTi 180carries on the Peugeot tradition of hot hatches – and is now even more accessible with a price saving of $2,000. At only $32,990, the GTi 180, featuring a willing and able 130kW engine, must be on the shopping list for anyone looking to combine an exhilarating driving experience with style, safety and renowned Peugeot handling – without breaking the bank.

There is good news also for convertible lovers. The 206CC is the most affordable convertible on the market, and has also been one of the most popular since it’s launch in 2002. The 1.6 litre model starts at only $32,990, and now with a cost saving of $2,000 the 2.0 litre model with a responsive 100kW of power, is priced from only $37,990.
