All New Laguna
Oct 12, 2007, 09:53

Fresh from the Frankfurt Motorshow the all-new Laguna taking centre stage on the Renault stand is the most sophisticated car ever manufactured by Renault.

“The all-new Laguna paves the way for Renault’s return to the high end of the market,” says Renault Australia Managing Director, Rudi Koenig.
“The new Laguna represents a gobal program investment of over A$1.5 billion and has been built to the highest of standards.”

Elegant, fluid, dynamic lines
New Laguna’s style epitomizes the quest for dynamic performance and driving pleasure. The long steeply-raked bonnet and wide grille, underlined by a chrome rail make an impressive statement.

At 4.69 metres in length and 1.81 in width, new Laguna’s naturally balanced proportions ensure a dynamic stance.

Its long, plunging shoulder line lend it personality and elegance, while the side windows’ chrome surrounds form a flowing arch-shape, providing it with an extra touch of class.

The twin chrome tailpipes hint at the presence of a pedigree powertrain.

Driving Pleasure
New Laguna is built for genuine driving pleasure.

With dynamic, flowing lines, it boasts an outstandingly responsive chassis and high-precision steering. Although significantly larger and more spacious than its predecessor, its carefully engineered body is around 15kg lighter.

The 2.0 dCi Engine delivers outstanding performance with a maximum power output of 110kW at 4,000rpm and 340Nm of torque at just 2,000rpm. The engine is matched to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Peace Of Mind
New Laguna ensures peace of mind for all its occupants.

In terms of safety, it benefits from Renault’s acknowledged know-how in real-life accident research and state-of-the-art technology – now even more effective in the event of side impact with the addition of a new generation thorax-and-pelvis double lateral airbag. And, thanks to the ample range of its climate control, the temperature is always just right.

Active safety features such as ABS, EBA, ESP and cruise control (with a speed- limiter function) are also standard.

Laguna II was the first vehicle to secure a five-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests. To maintain this leadership, new Laguna has had to innovate with even more demanding specifications.

Renault has engineered solutions that incorporate real-life accident research and behavior as part of a more comprehensive, effective approach to enhance the safety of occupants.

New Laguna’s electronic architecture has undergone major changes to produce new-generation equipment that reacts with astonishing speed in the event of a collision.

The new Laguna has the ability to detect a side collision and optimise crash protection performance at up to twice the speed other systems.

The unique twin-sensor combination is located in the front door. A special algorithm adjusts equipment response time to the strength of the impact, deploying a new-generation, twin-chamber, double-pressure side-airbag that protects the thorax and pelvis.

The all-new Laguna is expected to be available in Australia in mid-2008.
