New Partnership for Hogan And Honda
Feb 28, 2006, 10:06

Eleven times National Motocross/Supercross champion Lee Hogan
Eleven times National Motocross/Supercross champion Lee Hogan has signed with Honda Australia for 2006 under a partnership that will see the manufacturer supporting his off road rider training program.

Hogan retired from racing in 2003, and now specialises in advanced rider training under the 'BUILDING CHAMPIONS PROGRAM' banner.

The new association will see Honda become one of the naming rights sponsors for the highly reputable program which ran over 40 schools nationwide last year.

"2006 will definitely be a busy year!" said Hogan.

"I'm extremely happy to be back on board once again with Honda. They have always been the team to be with and are extremely proactive when it comes to supporting the industry.”

The Building Champions Program is a holistic one and focuses on teaching racing techniques as well as fitness, nutrition and sports psychology. It includes modules such as advanced starting techniques, block passing and an all new public speaking module.

According to Honda’s Brand Manager, Jason Nicholas, the company is very pleased to have the opportunity to be associated with Hogan and his various endeavours in 2006.

“Lee has over 20 years experience in the industry, along with 16 years coaching experience and a fitness/nutrition university background,” said Nicholas.

“It is important to us here at Honda that we continue to provide opportunities for young talent in this country to have access to adequate training, and Lee is one of Australia's most reputable coaches. It’s a win-win situation.”

Hogan's long term association with accessories giant Monza Imports will also continue for 2006. "I've been with Monza Imports for nearly 10 years now and can't imagine different," said Hogan. “They provide me the best gear on the market which has been fantastic.”

Hogan – a well known media personality within the industry - will continue his involvement with various commitments this year including front of camera work for Channel 9, Foxtel, SBS and Channel 31.

In addition to acting as MC for the Supercross Masters series to be aired on Channel 9, Foxtel and SBS, Hogan will also co-host the Honda sponsored MXTV, the only show in the country dedicated to motocross riders.

Alongside Hogan's coaching and TV hosting duties is a relatively new one for the ex-racer.

2006 will be the second year that he takes on a part-time editorial role with well known magazine Australasian Dirt Bike where he will once again be conducting race reports and bike testing on behalf of the publication.
